Oman is one of the countries in the Middle East, having boarders with Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and the UAE; this makes it a great place to road trip from Dubai or Abu Dhabi or a short break from other countries in the middle east.
Muscat has a few key attractions, the photos below are from the Mutra Souq, which still operates as a souq today for day to day living as well as selling tourist souvenirs. The below photos were taken with my Hasselblad 503cw.
Nizwa is a town close to the Jebel Shams, the town has been here for a long time, there is an impressive fort and souq to wander around. The souq sells spices, dates and animals. The below photos were taken with my Hasselblad 503cw.
The Jebels Shams, are a mountainous area of Oman, a 4x4 is required to drive into them past the police checkpoint. There is a large canyon with small villages doted along the rim, the photos below are from a walk between the two of those villages. The below photos were taken with my Hasselblad 503cw.
